This is a necklace and earring set that I made. I love to make jewelry, along with the rosaries. This necklace is all wire-wrapped so it should never break. It is made with silver-plated wire and lovely glass and swarovski beads.

WIRE-WRAPPING

Wire wrapping is one of the oldest techniques for making jewelry by hand.

In wire wrapping, jewelry is made using jewelry wire to make components.

Wire components are then connected to one another using hand techniques with no soldering or heating of the wire.

Frequently, in this approach, a wire is bent into a loop or other decorative shape and then the wire is wrapped around itself to finish the wire component making that loop or decorative shape permanent.

Because of this technique for wrapping wire around itself this craft is called wire wrapping.

Not only is it quite beautiful but it makes the jewelry or rosaries sturdy and durable.

We will draw from the basket August 31st and announce it September 1st!!!
