A couple of these books may be outdated (don’t you just love the outdated ones? …I do!!) so you may have to search around to find them.
My advice would be to read the books yourself, first, to judge the timing and maturity level of when to introduce them to your daughter (or son). Happy Reading!!

Thank you!!! I plan to look for these! We do already own Dressing with Dignity but it’s a first edition. I tried to contact the publisher and author a couple weeks ago to try to determine how the second edition is different but I never could get a reply. Does anyone know how the second edition differs from the first? It is worth the expense of an update? I don’t want my next daughter to start reading the book we have it it’s best to update. Thanks!
There is a lot more history and footnotes in the second version. It is a friendly book. Towards the end there is a reference to a secular guide for garments; however, I believe the author meant it as a parallel, showing how even the business industry tries to mirror the Church. It is not meant to be the sole rule for Catholics. 🙂 Also if you are interested in more history, you could look for original copies of Fr. Kunkel’s newsletter, Marylike Crusade. It parallels so sadly our current age. Also, another book on modesty showing how strongly we need prayer as well as knowledge is Immodesty: Satan’s Virtue. Happy reading! 🙂
HI Donna, I asked Colleen this and she said there is not much difference between the two editions. Thank you, Mary, for your help, too.
Just a note. I added a few more books to this post and will continue to add as I think of them. I also put it as a static page on the top of my site so it is easy to find in case any of you would like to find it at a later time.
