A beautiful Friday in this lovely month of the Holy Souls when we remember especially our beloved dead!

I love this quote from Divine Intimacy, full of hope and beauty!

“Death has taken away from us those we love; yet there can be no real separation from those who have died in the kiss of the Lord. The bond of charity continues to unite us, enfolding in one embrace earth, heaven and purgatory, so that there circulates from one region to another the fraternal assistance which springs from love, which has as its end the triumph of love in the common glory of Paradise.” – Divine Intimacy, Fr. Gabriel of St. Mary Magdalen

I’d like to offer you a beautiful handcrafted Religious Necklace.

The necklace is of Sts. Louis and Zelie Martin, the parents of St. Therese of Lisieux, the Little Flower. It is durable, wire wrapped and has a Vintage Charm about it! If you get it blessed, it can be a sacramental that you can venerate each day!

I believe that this couple is very powerful for the problems of marriage….that they will be added to that list of patron saints for the Married.

Just leave a comment here, a cheery hello and your name will be added! It is always great to hear from you. 🙂

I will announce the winner next Friday, November 11th! (Guys, sign up, too! It would make a lovely gift for some lady in your life)!

Our Margy, 17, went to Maine with our married daughter, Theresa, son-in-law, Devin, and their 3 children for 12 days in October.

They boarded the plane about 4 in the morning and were excited to see what it was like flying up in the clouds. They were just getting over the ocean and Margy and the three kids were delighted to see it! Brendan, the 6 yr. old shouts, “Look, I see a fish!” The lady in front of him and those around started laughing. Brendan was a little miffed. “I saw it! It was a fish!” One woman with a smirk says , “I think it was just a boat.”

As Brendan was taking this disappointing news in, Sienna (3 yrs. old), wanting to share her own discovery, draws her little person up as big as she could and, with wide eyes, lisps loudly, “Well….I thaw GOD!”

The lady looked at her awkwardly and said, “Well, yes I guess this is where He would be.”

Funny….kids can be so funny!

Our Rosary Rally for the elections this Saturday had to be cancelled. We were just informed that there is a Veteran’s day parade right there by the capitol building and much of the area will be blocked off.

It was disappointing as we had banners made and many people coming. But no matter, we will be pushing for Holy Hours here locally this coming First Friday Exposition at out church. We won’t let the devil get his licks in! 🙂

We had our Bake Sale to raise money for sundry Events coming up. We planned it very quickly and between myself and four of our daughters and Z, our daughter-in-law, we made a lot of baked goods.

Beside cookies, cakes, brownies we had 30 pans of cinnamon rolls, 25 loaves of bread and 38 pies!! It was a great time and we raised enough that we were able to buy the banner for the Rosary Rally that was cancelled. 😛 Oh well, we will use it elsewhere!

Oh, the beauty of our Faith. Oh, the sweetness of our Traditions. We are very blessed to be part of the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church!

TO AN ALTAR BOY

To be Christ’s page at the altar,
To serve Him freely there.
Where even the Angels falter,
Bowed low in reverent prayer.

To touch the throne most holy,
To hand the gifts for the feast,
To see Him meekly, lowly,
Descend at the word of the priest.

To hear man’s poor petition,
To sound the silver bell,
When He in sweet submission,
Comes down with us to dwell.

No grander mission surely
Could Saints or men enjoy;
No heart should love more purely,
Than yours my altar boy.

God bless you, lad, forever,
And keep you in His care,
And Guard you that you never
Belie the robes you wear.

For white bespeaks untainted
A heart both tried and true;
And red tolls love the sainted
The holy martyrs knew.

Throughout life, then, endeavor
God’s graces to employ;
And be in heart forever
A holy altar boy.

by St. John Berchmans,
Patron Saint of Altar Boys

A Screwtape Letter for the Unappreciated Mom/Wife

My Dear Wormwood,

I was thrilled to hear you have been making progress with the mother.  You have a good lead, from what I hear.  She’s feels over-worked, unappreciated, and discouraged?  I’m so glad to hear it.  If you tread carefully, this can be a great opportunity.  With the kids waking her up every hour last night, we already have an advantage.  A tired Mom makes for a more emotional Mom, and an emotional Mom is a vulnerable one. Back to the elections.  Well, it’s around the corner and remember….we can MOVE the heart of God Who in turn moves the hearts of men!

“Here on earth we can’t forget we’re the Church Militant. The Church Militant must be ready for spiritual combat.

St. Padre Pio of Pietrelcina told us what the arms for this reenactment of the Battle of Lepanto were. Remember, he very strongly stated: “The Rosary is the weapon.” It’s time to pick up our weapon — the Rosary — to fight back.

Just as Europe was once saved, following the Church’s wisdom proves how the victory can be won to save this country from many different enemies trying to take it over. Heaven gave the answer several times loud and clear. It’s through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, through the Rosary.

Our Lady of the Rosary has proven over and over again how the victory is won. She told us at Fatima too — now approaching its 100th Anniversary Year.

Blessed Pope Pius IX proclaimed: “I could conquer the world if I had an army to say the Rosary.”

Heaven is waiting to hand us the victory and has given us the most powerful weapon of all to triumph — the Rosary.” by Joseph Pronechen
