The summer is swiftly passing! Where does the time go? Each week, it seems we blink our eyes and the weekend is here again!

This is my picture post and some other chit-chatty things you may be interested in.

Fishing can be such a wonderful bonding time. And when the weather warms up, the guys dig out their rods and hooks, and see what they can catch!

Theresa’s husband and her children decided to head out early to see what was happening at the pond. As Theresa rolled back over in bed (she’s close to the end of her pregnancy), Daddy and the excited kids snuck out of the house….

It’s a beautiful thing to go fishin’ with Dad!

Here is another fishing expedition to Vin and Gin’s pond. It was a calm and pleasant evening and we enjoyed each other’s company as the kids did their thing in the pond!

It was a good opportunity to snap some pictures!

A couple of years ago I posted a picture and was able to dig it up again. It is of an amazing priest and author, Fr. Jacques Philippe! He wrote the book I know many of you are familiar with….Searching For and Maintaining Peace. This book is worth more than its weight in gold!

By chance I mentioned to a friend that I was getting much out of Father’s book and she told me he was coming to Kansas City to preach (he lives in France).  Boy! Was I excited! We gathered a bunch of young adults and headed that way! What a privilege!

Who cares about getting photos with Hollywood stars?? This is my photo of a REAL star!!

We have been making some refreshing and delicious drinks around here….healthy yummy ones!

In the spring, as the stinging nettle started to grow in the garden, we used the tender leaves to add to our tea. The health benefits of Stinging Nettle are tremendous! The plant doesn’t feel too good when you touch it (it leaves quite a sting…thus the name) but your innards like it a lot!

Here’s a link to some of its benefits. If you were to google it, you would find much about its wonderful qualities!

I usually add a peppermint tea bag….though the Stinging Nettle leaf is not bad-tasting.

Here is another drink that we adapted from Trim Healthy Mama. It is so good and if you like fizzy drinks, you will like this one!

A perfect summer beverage!

1 tsp. vanilla

1 TBSP. Apple Cider Vinegar

Stevia or Honey (not much)

Ice

1 can Seltzer Water

Simple yet truly delicious!

This is a tidbit some of you may appreciate…We try to do things naturally around here and I finally found a shampoo and conditioner that doesn’t leave your hair oily or other odd things natural shampoos tend to do. I thought you might appreciate the tip…..

Meet Juliette, Virginia’s youngest! Busy, busy, busy…..just like her Mom! 😀

We went to a Thrift Shop and Hannah picked up this humble and unassuming hat. 😛 She’s got a hat collection and likes to get neat head gear….the kind you would see in My Fair Lady. She better not wear it to Church! 😀

Our son-in-law, Mike, and his brothers are avid hunters from Maine. Here they are building a Deer Blind on Mike’s property…

One night, Vincent and I sat out on the yard swing and admired the dandelions shimmering in the setting sun….

Gemma and I with Virginia (Gin), the Apron Queen! I made sure and bought one before she gets so busy she won’t be able to hand-embroider them anymore. Her aprons are selling like hot-cakes! Browse here if you are interested.

Colin and Z’s lovely family enjoying a summer snack!

Colin and Z invited the kids over for an evening of dinner and fun! They came home with bruises and scratches but were satisfied because they had conquered the “rope swing” that sailed them 20 ft. above the creek. Some of the landings weren’t too soft…but they were determined!

Mike and Jeanette’s beautiful family!

The First Mass of Father James Smith, F.S.S.P at the beautiful St. Mary’s Church in St. Benedict, KS.

After Mass there were bagpipes and live music as we ate beside a beautiful little cemetery on the Church grounds.

Paying tribute to our beloved dead on Memorial Day. We met at Dad’s graveside to say the Rosary and fix it up with flowers. Our son, Giuseppe, made the headstone. (Notice the thistle planted on the side –  lovingly picked by the grandchildren).

How much we appreciate our priests!

This is Father Allen who just left for his new Apostolate as chaplain to the Carmelite Nuns! What a fantastic preacher and wonderful priest! He will be sorely missed!

Yay! Father Kodet gets to stay with us another year. He is a hit with the kids…and with us older folk. What a blessing to have him at our parish!

Father Flood is back with us! He was our pastor about 10 years ago and has returned. This is his welcoming party! We are glad to have him!

Have you purchased the Rosary Flip Book yet, to help your family focus on each Mystery as you say your Rosary?

Here’s a tidbit from my friend, Kam:

“The other day I added to my rosary flip book (with my label maker) the name of the virtue we should ask for during each mystery of the rosary. The gifts/fruits correspond to the mystery. Our family has found it very useful.”

Here is a wonderful channel on YouTube called Sensus Fidelium that I have added to my Audios and Sermons Page. Wow! So many great, orthodox sermons to bless your days!

Below are a couple great sermons from it that I think you will like.
