Dear Friends,
This past Thursday my mom, for the second time, received the Last Rites and the Apostolic Blessing. She is failing quickly and we do not expect her to hang on much longer. We are so grateful for the comfort of the Sacraments when the most important event of life closes in.
This is not going to be easy. My mom has been so much a part of our lives…and we will miss her so.
I am reaching out to ask for prayers for her and for us. I have a couple mountains to climb after Mom is gone…and I feel like my mountain-climbing equipment is not up to par.
My sister, who lives with Mom, is disabled and has relied on my mom for spiritual, emotional and physical help. When Mom is gone, that void will be very big for her and I will need prayers to help me and her navigate.
But especially prayers for Mom. What a woman, what a Catholic example, what a warrior during a lifetime of hardship! She has been my rock…I have watched her closely through the years and hope to learn from her example.
Thank you so much for the prayers.
Praying for your mom, your sister, and you, as well as the rest of your family! 💜💜 Thank you for sharing your heart with us so that we can pray more specifically.
I will certainly keep you all in my prayers. As a nurse, I wanted to make sure that you are aware that when people are bedridden they need to be turned every 2 to 4 hours, to prevent bedsores and other muscular aches. You may already be aware of this. But even if your mother seems comfortable it is still a good idea to turn her. Pillows can be used to support her on her side. If she is on her side place a pillow under the topmost arm so as to alleviate any potential arm/shoulder aches. A sheet can be placed underneath as a draw sheet from shoulder to thighs to help with turning. Mouth swabs and chapstick can help prevent any sores developing in the mouth. I will be offering up my daily crosses for you.
Thank you, Hannah.
Prayers for your mom. God Bless.

Dear Leanne and family, you will all be in my prayers. What a precious time, to be surrounded by such a loving family. Ah, the confort of the Sacraments, to hear those merciful words of the Apostolic Blessing, nothing as comforting. God bless you all, send His Holy Angels, and may Blessed Mother be a Mother to all of you. Thank you for your charity of asking for prayers.
Praying for you all. With much love
Oh, God bless you, Leane, and your dear mum! I was with my mother as she was passing and I was saying the Rosary for her and then she started to mouth the words with me. That was such a blessing for me to see that. Then when she passed, she had the sweetest smile on her face. She was so beautiful. My mom loved the Blessed Virgin so much and I know that our Holy Mother will be there with your mom, too. Our faith is so comforting in these very sad and trying times. Thank you for posting the pictures, too. The young priest kneeling by her bedside is so very touching. All my love and prayers for you and your family.
Prayers for her and your family. :'(

Praying for your Mom and your family.❤️❤️❤️
You are all in our thoughts and prayers. We will be offering sacrifices for your mom for a happy and holy death. I’m so glad you posted that about her so we know to pray. I just saw it.
I have fond memories of Grandma Weeres and all the help she gave the boys and me. She was always so incredibly kind and compassionate.
We will be praying for you all, Leane.
I must say your two granddaughters look like little angels hovering over their great-grandmother. You all must be such a comforting presence to your Mum. I like very much Mother Mary Potter’s book Devotion for the Dying. She had a special apostolate to pray for the dying; and I believe she emphasised the importance of the good the dying can derive from being around others in the state of grace.
In my prayers!
