Traditional Family Weekend 2025

Share

Sometimes it’s hard to live a joyful, Catholic life in an un-Catholic world. That’s when you reach out and bring Catholic Culture to your own little world!

And that’s what we did years ago when we had our first Traditional Family Weekend. Yes, it’s been twenty-two years, and we have seen very good fruit come from these weekends. Couples have met, families have interacted, good times have been had, our souls have been nourished.

This year, the weather was supposed to be scorching but it seemed as the Good Lord held that off. It was still quite warm…but not scorching. In Kansas, we can expect very hot weather so we are always pleasantly surprised when we get a bit of a reprieve for the Weekend.

Friday night we had games and live music, coffee, food and visiting. Our granddaughters did a lovely job of selling iced coffees and frappuccinos to everyone (even Keto style ones!). Our grandson ran the popcorn machine and provided some happy munching to whoever wanted some.

Saturday we had the conferences by Father Gregory Pendegraft, FSSP, Games and the Talent Show. Pizza was brought in to enjoy dinner in the hall.

Sunday was a breakfast sponsored by our Traditional Knights of Columbus and then sports in the park.

I have the videos of the Talent Show Acts on my own personal Youtube channel. Here is the link if you would like to view them….I am including some here. You can also subscribe to the new channel so as not to miss updates.

If I am not capable of great things, I will not become discouraged, but I will do the small things! Sometimes, because we are unable to do great things, heroic acts, we neglect the small things that are available to us and which are, moreover, so fruitful for our spiritual progress and are such a source of joy. -Fr. Jacques Philippe, Searching For and Maintaining Peace

This is a special book and provides much material for meditation!

The Life of Mary As Seen By the Mystics ~ Available here.

A masterpiece that combines the visions of four great Catholic mystics into one coherent story on the life of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Based primarily on the famous revelations of Ven. Anne Catherine Emmerich and Ven. Mary of Agreda, it also includes many episodes described in the writings of St. Bridget of Sweden and St. Elizabeth of Schenau. To read this book, therefore, is to share in the magnificent visions granted to four of the most privileged souls in the history of the Church.

In complete harmony with the Gospel story, this book reads like a masterfully written novel. It includes such fascinating details as the birth and infancy of Mary, her espousal to St. Joseph and her Assumption into Heaven where she was crowned Queen of Heaven and Earth.
