I’ve always appreciated the beauty of simplicity. Life doesn’t need to be complicated to be meaningful. This is especially true when it comes to raising children. The truths of our Catholic Faith should quietly shape the rhythm of our days—from morning until night—like a steady brook flowing in the background. It’s a peaceful, purposeful way to live, and over time, it bears quiet but lasting fruit.
That’s why I’m drawn to publishing stories for children. They reflect a life rooted in simple joys and clear truths—exactly the kind of life I believe helps form strong, faithful hearts.
And so here is my latest in my Catholic Hearth Series…..
The Guiding Light
Mary and Tommy are excited about their visit to the seashore where Grandpa and Grandma take care of the lighthouse. Their visit is filled with many fun times at the seaside, along with an adventure where their quick thinking and prayerful attitude is called upon! Set in poetic rhyme, this book is a good lesson on the value of prayer in Catholic family life.
Catholic Hearth Stories are tales filled with traditional, old-fashioned values. They are about everyday situations in the life of a Catholic family…Tales about home, friends, fun, sacrifice, prayer, etc. These are full-color books sure to capture the heart of your children.
This book is 23 pages of full-color pictures that tell a lovely Catholic story. The ages it is appropriate for are approximately 2-10 years. Older children will also enjoy it and will appreciate the detail in the illustrations…it is a lovely book for all!
Available here.

Young Lady’s Maglet:
This Maglet (magazine/booklet) is for you…dear young (and not-so-young), Catholic, Feminine Soul. It is a compilation of traditional, valuable Catholic articles on the subjects that touch the hearts of serious-minded Catholic young ladies. There are articles on courtship, purity, singleness, vocation, prayer, confession, friends, tea parties, obedience, etc. This information is solid, written by orthodox Catholic writers (most of them gone to their eternal home) that cared about the proper formation of a young Catholic adult in a confused world. Take this information to heart and your journey through adulthood will be filled with many blessings!
Trustful Surrender to Divine Providence:
To trust in God’s will is the “secret of happiness and content,” the one sure-fire way to attain serenity in this world and salvation in the next. Trustful Surrender simply and clearly answers questions that many Christians have regarding God’s will, the existence of evil, and the practice of trustful surrender, such as:
- How can God will or allow evil? (pg. 11)
- Why does God allow bad things to happen to innocent people? (pg. 23)
- Why does God appear not to answer our prayers? (pg. 107)
- What is Trustful Surrender to Divine Providence? (pg. 85) and many more…
This enriching classic will lay to rest many doubts and fears, and open the door to peace and acceptance of God’s will. TAN’s pocket-sized edition helps you to carry it wherever you go, to constantly remind yourself that God is guarding you, and He does not send you any joy too great to bear or any trial too difficult to overcome.

Forget the little troubles that others may cause you; keep up no resentment for the inconsiderate or unfavorable words that may have been said about you; excuse the mistakes and awkward blunders of which you are the victim; always make out good intentions for those who have done you any wrong by imprudent acts of speeches; in a word, smile at everything, show a pleasant face on all occasions, maintain an inexhaustible fund of goodness, patience, and gentleness. ~ My Prayer Book, Fr. Lasance
